Favorite places to live / climb / visit
Fontainebleau will always be one of my favourite places in the world to boulder, and my most frequent trip destination. I have many amazing memories in the forest with some of my closest friends and the best pastries in the world! I would love to live there one day.
In recent years I've come to appreciate the world class bouldering right on my doorstep in Yorkshire. There's an abundance of very unique features at all grades. Lots of it doesn’t get repeated very much so it can make for a real adventure to seek out some of the esoteric crags.
Favorite type of climbing (bouldering, sports climbing, trad, etc.):
It's rare for me to do any climbing other than bouldering but maybe one day! The gritstone is my favourite rock type as the climbing is incredibly nuanced and has an amazing ability to feel completely impossible at first and almost effortless on the send.
What most people don't know about me:
I work as a music producer and have a training setup and board in my music studio so I can train at any time between my music work. I'm also a vocalist in a metal band
Career highlights:
Karma was definitely one of the main highlights of my climbing career. Whilst not the highest grade I've climbed, I tried it for many years when it was possibly a bit too ambitious. Finally standing on top felt like a very tangible result of all the training and hard work.
Cypher was another stand-out ascent for me and a bucket-list project in my eyes. It's one of the highest quality boulders of its grade on the UK gritstone and Ben Moon's first ascent had great significance in British climbing history
